Surgery is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 8. I learned from the doctor that it will no longer be safe for me to downhill ski or play tennis after I recover. The back of my neck won't have bones anymore and I can't do high impact sports/activities. I can live with that. It is a small price to pay.
